One of the great strengths of photography has always been that it forces you to get out into the world and explore, to interact with people, to look at things with a fresh pair of eyes. Whether shooting an editorial feature on skateboarding , an ad campaign for a train company or a health service annual report, my brief is often quite similar –  bring back images of real people, in real situations; images people can identify with – reflections of everyday lives.

I have been sent to work in a vast range of situations which require insight and highly tuned interpersonal skills as my clients are aware that capturing great images is as much about sensitivity to people as it is about sensitivity to light.

Alongside commercial work I continue to shoot self assigned projects in order to explore new subject matter over longer periods.  Despite having worked all over the world on a number of projects ranging from coastal resorts to Himalayan villages I have always maintained a lingering love affair with all that is British, amassing  a wide range of portraits, landscapes and national pastimes captured over the past 20 years.   I will be adding a selection of these projects to the website over the coming months.
